Low Carb Bread Recipe
Serves 16 – Calories 135 kcal – fats 11g – Protein 6g – Net carbs 1g Fibre 3 g
- 2.5 cups almond flour
- 1/2 cup coconut flour
- 1/3 cup flaxseed meal
- 6 tbsp psyllium husks
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 cups warm water
NOTE: Make it more interesting by adding herbs to the mixture such as (rosemary, oregano, Italian herbs or chilli flakes)
- Preheat the oven 200 degrees C
- Combine, almond flour, flaxseed, psyllium husks, baking powder & salt in a mixing bowl
- Add warm water, apple cider vinegar & olive oil
- Use a spoon to mix & then use your hands to knead the dough for a couple minutes
- Leave the dough aside for 10 minutes to let the moisture absorb, before shaping into your desired shape
- Place the dough in a loaf pan lined with baking paper & bake for 60 minutes, or until a skewer comes out clean
- Remove the bread from the pan & place onto a wire cooling rack
- Allow to cool completely before slicing into 16 pieces
- Store in airtight container for 3-4 days, or in the freezer for up to 6 months
